Face Lift Procedure

A face lift, whether cosmetic or reconstructive, can radically alter the appearance of the face. For reconstructive face lift patients, the procedure can provide a new lease on life. Whether you require face lift surgery in Central Texas due to congenital anomaly, disease, or trauma, or to correct the results of an unsuccessful previous surgery, our surgeons have the training and experience to handle even the most complicated cases.

Cosmetic Face Lift - A face lift for purely cosmetic purposes is designed to reduce the signs of aging and restore a more youthful, vibrant look to the face and neck. Typically, an incision is made in front of the ear, continuing into the hairline. The incision curves around and behind the ear, ending at the hairline on the back of the neck. Once the incision is made, the skin is separated from the underlying musculature, so that the deeper tissues can be tightened or removed as necessary. The skin is then re-draped, and any excess is removed; in some cases, liposuction may be used to remove excess fat around the face and neck. After the excess skin has been removed, the incisions are closed using sutures, which will also help in the skin tightening process.

Reconstructive Face Lift - This procedure is designed to reconstruct the features of the face and neck. Depending on the case, the surgeon may incorporate reconstructive and/or cosmetic procedures, such as rhinoplasty or blepharoplasty. Autologous grafts of bone, skin, and/or cartilage or surgical implants can be used to craft the facial features. Many of the techniques utilized in the cosmetic face lift are also included in the reconstructive procedure to a greater, more extensive degree. While improving overall aesthetics, the reconstructive face lift can also serve a more practical purpose, allowing patients to breathe, eat, see, and live easier.

Liquid Face Lift - While not permanent, the liquid face lift does offer advantages over its surgical counterpart. Without the need for surgery, the risks of complications are dramatically reduced. And with no downtime and immediate results, patients are able to transform themselves without the need for recovery. By combining several types of injectables and dermal fillers, it is possible to return lost volume to the face and its features, while smoothing the skin and reducing the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. The liquid face lift will provide results lasting anywhere from six months to a year, and the procedures can be repeated as needed.
